Dragons Den star Theo Paphitis, who owns Ryman Stationery and lingerie boutiques Boux Avenue, visited Coatbridge for the official opening of Avia Signs' new expanded premises at Brown Street. He is a friend of the business' owner and founder Alan MacRae, and Avia provided the signage for Boux Avenue.

Theo Paphitis heaped praise on the workforce and co-owners saying "Alan has done marvellous work for us and has become a friend. He is an example to people as it proves you can grow a business during a time of recession, having the opportunity to look around it is clear that considerable financial investment has taken place in new state of the art machinery. This business is poised to achieve an even greater share of the signage market throughout Scotland and further afield."
